No Limits Platform

Innovate UK embarked on a pioneering venture to launch the No Limits initiative—a digital platform connecting innovators, problem solvers, and entrepreneurs with opportunities across the UK.

 

As the lead for marketing and communications, my task was to craft a comprehensive strategy for user and partner acquisitions. This encompassed devising strategies across various marketing channels, managing budgets, and overseeing marketing project management.

The Challenge

The project presented several challenges. We were tasked with creating a new "No Limits" brand under the Innovate UK umbrella and swiftly developing digital and marketing strategies for the launch campaign and ongoing communications. Complicating matters were large, diverse teams and multiple stakeholders, including internal senior management and external partners. Furthermore, last-minute requests from senior management and coordination with multiple agencies for content creation and advertising added to the complexity.

The Solution

To address these challenges, I facilitated two workshops to align stakeholder expectations and accurately scope the required resources and budget. Utilising insights from these workshops, I developed comprehensive briefs for our contractor network to devise an overarching marketing strategy. Additionally, I established KPIs and metrics for management approval by analysing communication results from previous campaigns. Collaborating with the program team, I meticulously planned the launch event in February 2024. Despite last-minute requests from C-level management, I efficiently managed agency briefs within budget and timeline constraints, overseeing five agencies simultaneously.

The Results

The efforts culminated in the successful creation of a distinctive branding for No Limits, leveraging insights from existing Innovate UK programs. We formulated a robust marketing strategy for user and partner engagement over the next 18 months, complete with KPIs and metrics for measurement. The launch event, held in Leeds on 8 February 2024, was a resounding success, garnering over 4500 clicks to the platform through organic communications from users and partners alike.
